   Cumberland Franklin Joint Municipal Authority (CFJMA) was formed in 1972. The Authority provides sewer service in two Districts; both in the Franklin and Cumberland Counties.

    The Original District includes service to both the Borough of Orrstown and Southampton Township located in Franklin County and service to both Southampton Township and Shippensburg Township located in Cumberland County. District #2 includes service to Orrstown Borough and Letterkenny Township in Franklin County.

    CFJMA constructed sewer lines in 2008 and 2009 to facilitate sewer service to the designated areas of Letterkenny Township and a small portion of Southampton Franklin, along Orrstown Road. Those areas include; Pleasant Hall and Upper Strasburg. These are known as the “Letterkenny Sewer District” (LSD - District #2)

    CFJMA owns the collection lines in the areas that we service, and we transport the sewage to the Shippensburg Wastewater Treatment Plant, owned by the Shippensburg Borough. CFJMA pays collection fees and a designated percentage of capital upgrades to the wastewater treatment, as per our 1977 Intermunicipal Agreement with the Borough of Shippensburg.

    CFJMA has almost 6,000 service connections, more than 80 miles of pipeline,10 pumping stations, 2 metering pits and 3 flushing stations.
